What is a gooch?

The gooch, also known as the perineum, is the area of skin between the anus and the genitals. In males, it's located between the anus and the scrotum, while in females, it's between the anus and the vulva.

It is a sensitive area that contains various muscles, nerves, and blood vessels. The perineum plays a role in supporting the pelvic organs, controlling bowel and bladder function, and sexual function.

Damage to the Gooch (perineum) can occur due to childbirth, surgery, trauma, or certain medical conditions. Symptoms of perineal injury can include pain, discomfort, difficulty with urination or defecation, and sexual dysfunction. Treatments for perineal injuries may include physical therapy, medication, or surgery.
